Well this project has been going on and off for a while. I had a good start at it last May/June and have now picked it up again. I am fascinated with rocks and the iron and the copper colours that appear in the mines and caves in Cornwall as part of our mining heritage. I am also slightly obsessed with limpets and how they like following the cracks and faultiness in rocks. So this is a slideshow of how the work is going.
I've done a lot of this during this year, working alongside my students, making work with them. It's a way of practising what i preach and showing them how to do the techniques I am teaching.
So this time last year I was in Copenhagen with my bestie Karen. Loads of cool art and food and inspiration. Nice to look back from lockdown. Whilst walking on Perranporth the other day, I found a seagull wing on the strand line. All the feathers still connected so you could fan out the wing. Needless to say I have brought it home to scan and play around with. Added the wings into a painting and onto a photograph
