This is my latest project which has been one that has been in my head for a while but has only started to come together recently. The vision is the river flowing. There are three rivers that flow into Truro and the way that I saw it was the three small rivers flowing in but then the Holy Spirit working in God's people in the city and the river becoming a living torrent of water that gathers power and flows out of the city to bring life in dry places. It's going to be on a massive canvas. these sketches and ideas are where it's at right now, but since I have time, I'm going to get going on it!

So we are in lockdown because of Covid 19 and i haven't updated anything in the longest time. The Art of Worship as a kind of venture has been shelved mainly because I have had to take on extra work due to the fact that my husband has been diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons and has dropped a day of work a week and both of my kids have been struggling health wise and it's all been a bit full on. I haven't stopped making art work in church though or at worship events, it's just been a little less structured. I'll put a few images here of bits and pieces that I've done, including making a calendar, which was cool. So firstly I have got involved with a community project called Breathe which is in Penzance and is run by two amazing friends, Karen and Murray Golden. It's 'church' but not as you know it! I love it. It's currently streaming live on Thurs, Fri and Sat due to lockdown and it is keeping me sane. I've done a mural for them and take part in some of their art activities. I want to be involved more.
I have had an amazing time at this event. I am so grateful for the invite and the opportunity to meet new people, lead a workshop, encourage others and be encouraged on this creative journey. As I write this I have just received another rejection from a job application. No interview again. But, you know? I am going to keep my head up. I prayed when i sent the application that if God would rather I kept three days a week free for more opportunities to paint for Him in Cornwall and further afield, then i wouldn't get this additional job. And so i will take this as confirmation that God has got something for me here, new plans, new opportunities. So as I will still only be working Mondays and Tuesdays, if anyone would like me to paint at an event either in Cornwall or beyond the Tamar, get in touch and book me in!! Happy to do workshops, paint live during conference events, talk about Prophetic Art, whatever really.
Today i have finally got around to playing with an image i received during a prayer event. With everything that has gone on in my life recently and feeling like my life is like a barren land, God has promised a crown of beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of a spirit of despair. It hasn't all quite transpired yet, but I have this as my hope. These images have been created by placing flowers and then my face onto a scanner and playing with scanner settings. These are my first images and I will play a bit more later. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-art-of-worship-tickets-25091113195
This is a new venture for me. I will be holding a one day introductory workshop in Truro where you can come along and explore how you can respond to worship and God through Art. Tickets are available at the link above and info is on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/artofworshipuk/ |
AuthorThis is my little sideline adventure where I am planning to explore making Art as a form of worship. I am currently working on some ideas for some workshops coming up in the Spring so that i can encourage others to explore. Archives
